Stirling Truck Show enters into partnership with Road Today Truck Show
Stirling – Stirling's annual truck show is combining forces to become bigger and better for the coming year.
“Road Today Truck Show, a show to be held in Brampton, Ontario, is partnering with Stirling as a way to promote both shows and interest vendors and the public in participating,” said Ruth Potts, Show Manager.
Manan Gupta, founder and publisher of Road Today magazine, is holding the show for the first time in Brampton, and said he's very excited about partnering with Stirling. "This partnership is all about adding value to the trucking industry," he said. "When people come to the show we want them going home well informed and well educated.". Gupta said he participated in the first show Stirling held, after hearing about it through press releases. "It was a wonderful show," he said. "We're partnering and we're never looking back."
As part of the incentive to encourage vendors to participate in the show, both shows are offering 15 per cent discounts to exhibitors, offering prizes to be won for people who attend both shows, and conducting trucking competitions, like the Pit Crew Challenge at both shows, with the finals held at Stirling's show. "The timing of both shows is very appropriate," Gupta said. "Our show is May 30-31 and the Stirling show is June 19-21."
Currently, the show websites have an combined audience of about 10,000 people, including truckers, business owners, and the general public, who all receive updates about the show as they're posted. The new partnership will only help to spread the word even more, she said.
" It's a unique partnership. We will be doing an extensive combined outreach campaign and I think in both cases it's really going to make our numbers grow," Potts said.

Stirling truck show will add vintage models
Stirling – The Stirling Truck Show and Shine committee is excited about the prospect of having a little vintage appeal at the truck show next June.
Choice Reefer Systems owner Stan Morrow, announced he's working in conjunction with the committee in hopes of adding some vintage trucks to the lineup for next year. Morrow, who has owned CRS, a trucking company in Belleville, since 1985, has been in the trucking business for 35 years. "It brings a whole new venue to the show, there are 15 or 20 people who've already expressed interest," Morrow said. "It's just one more thing that will bring another group of people out."
A lot of new truckers in the industry don't know about the history of trucking, he said, so a vintage section of the truck show can help educate as well as attract people who might not normally attend. "Trucks I drove when I first started aren't even around anymore," he said.
Committee chair Dave Potts said the committee is fortunate to be working with Morrow, who is a gold Show sponsor this year. Morrow will also host a turkey dinner for truck show participants the Friday night before the show. "Stan has supported us from the get-go," Potts said.
He's hoping the vintage trucks at the show will lead to something more. He's already approached Quinte West council about building a museum to honour the history of trucking in Canada, and although it's in the very early stages of planning, he's excited about the idea. "Truckers are proud of their trucks," he said. "This would give truckers an avenue to bring their trucks in and help document and retain history. "A truck takes on the personality of the person who owns it."
A vintage truck doesn't necessarily have to be a transport truck, Morrow said. "A vintage truck is a vintage truck."
